Domestic airline passengers up 9.7%


NEW DELHI: Passengers carried by domestic airlines during 2014 have increased by 9.7 per cent at 673.83 lakh against 614.26 lakh during the corresponding period of the previous year, as per the data released by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The domestic passengers carried by Air India were 124.25 lakh while the private carriers carried 549.58 passengers. The market share of Air India remained at 18.4 per cent while for the private airlines it was 81.6 per cent.
