Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah on Monday said there were no reports of death of children in the past 15 years due to administering of pulse polio drops. Addressing the media at his chambers in Secretariat here, Rajaiah, said they had ordered an inquiry into alleged death of a kid at Warangal Hospital. The government, he said, would take serious action if any dereliction and wrong things were reported.
Referring to a child’s death, the Health Minister said the government would not spare anyone if the death was due to negligence by the staff of the hospital. He said that the government would take up a second phase of polio immunisation programme on February 22. Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister ruled out the possibility of appointments on contract basis in health sector. Rajaiah said recruitment process would be taken up in a transparent manner avoiding any sort of misdeeds.
