99,418 candidates attended the State Eligibility Test
Hyderabad : Around 99,418 candidates attended the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States held at 218 test centres on Sunday. The examination was held in two sessions (9:30 am to 1 pm and 2:30 pm to 4 pm) in around 27 subjects. The test makes candidates eligible for the posts of Assistant Professor or lectureship in State varsities. About 25 per cent of the total registered candidates abstained from the exam.
The entire process of conduct of this examination has been monitored by observers appointed by the office of the SET-TS & AP and UGC officials. Senior professors from Andhra University, Sri Venkateswara University, S K University, Osmania University and Kakatiya University and senior officials of UGC were appointed as observers in all the 12 regional centres.
Apart from them, the Vice-Chancellors and registrars of the universities concerned also supervised the entire process. No incident of malpractice was reported.
