Chandrababu Naidu may toe KCR’s line on fitment benefit
Hyderabad : Andhra Pradesh Government is said to have agreed to offer 43 per cent of fitment benefit to State employees despite poor coffers. However, Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu is inconclusive on the time of arrears to be effected on implementation of PRC recommendations. A Cabinet Sub Committee apprised Naidu about the meeting held with employees association seeking a fitment on par with Telangana government which offered 43 per cent to its employees. However, Naidu is to decide on the arrears to be given either from June 8 2014 when he has taken oath as chief minister or from July 1, 2013. Naidu during a meeting with secretariat staff recently expressed discontent on their functioning and asked them to focus on getting more revenues keeping financial constraints in view.
Though the government was of the opinion to offer 1 or 2 per cent more than 43 per cent, it is learnt that the poor coffers pressed the chief minister to abstain from extending a liberal hand.
