10,929 BPL families seek free land

Hyderabad : Officials of Hyderabad District have received over 10,929 applications from BPL families for regularisation of occupied government lands to an extent of up to 125 square yards at free of cost till Saturday under GO 58. It might be recalled here that the government has issued orders to facilitate the people residing in government lands to regularise the possession. The district treasury has received Rs 2.3 crores from 37 applicants under GO 59 for regularisation and transfer of rights on lands being encroached upon. The amount being collected by the district administration under this is 25 per cent of the government rate.
