Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to celebrate the upcoming fifth National Voters Day (January 25, 2015) by felicitating new voters. The programme will be held at 3,848 polling stations located in 15 Assembly constituencies of Hyderabad district. The Booth Level Officers (BLO) will felicitate new voters as part of the felicitation programmes.
According to GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, the corporation will also hold elocution, essay writing and painting competitions for school and college students as part of the celebrations as per the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI). He said that the constituency level competitions will be held on January 18, 2015. The district and state level competitions will be held on January 21 and January 24 respectively, he said.
