Hyderabad: Newly registered voters would be felicitated by the municipal and election authorities on the occasion of National Voters’ Day on Sunday. GHMC commissioner and special officer Somesh Kumar has asked all the booth level officers (BLOs) in 15 Assembly constituencies of the city to hold felicitation functions for the purpose.
He informed that Election Commission of India (ECI) has decided to celebrate January 25 as the National Voters’ Day every year, marking its foundation day. He said that ECI wanted to increase the enrolment of voters by using this occasion and create awareness among voters for effective participation in the electoral process.
