Beleaguered Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah, who holds the health portfolio, is reportedly making frantic attempts to save his skin, as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is reportedly on the verge of sacking him for mishandling the outbreak of swine flu cases and corruption in the health department. The Deputy Chief Minister met KCR at the latter’s camp office on Saturday in a bid for fresh patch-up. He reportedly told the Chief Minister that he would cleanse his department and set his house in order.

Rajaiah sacked his personal secretary and other members of staff of his office at the Secretariat on Saturday. The government decided to remove Rajaiah’s officer on special duty (OSD). The Deputy Chief Minister also promised to run the department as per the expectations of KCR. The Deputy CM is under fire from KCR for his failure to take prompt measures to control the spread of swine flu in the State and for allowing the situation to reach an alarming level. On top of that, there are reports of corrupt practices in the Deputy Chief Minister’s office.
