Hyderabad : Pinning hopes on loans from the developed countries and international financial institutions, the State government is planning a big budget for the financial year 2015-16. The government intends to present a budget with more allocations to plan expenditure compared to that of non-plan expenditure. According to Finance Department sources, the plan expenditure budget might cross 50 per cent mark. To this end, the government has presented a budget of Rs one lakh crore for the present financial year with 48 per cent allocations. It made nominal allocations to various flagship programmes since there was no enough time to spend.
The-Andhra-AssemblyIn the next budget, it has to raise allocations to complete programmes on time. Government has taken certain programmes prestigiously and is ready to spend any amount on them. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is much particular about water grid programme and directed the officials to complete it within two years. This needs huge funding for the programme. The government has estimated that the water grid programme would need about Rs 25,000 crores expenditure and 50 per cent funding has to be allocated in the next year’s budget.
