Woman arrested for cheating public
Hyderabad: A 33-year-old woman from Old City was arrested by the market intelligence wing police for cheating public by collecting huge amounts of money under the guise of providing employment as male escorts. The accused woman, Farheen Naaz (33), from Noorkhan Bazaar of old city in Hyderabad, used to post advertisements in English daily to provide jobs to unemployed men as male escorts.
Acting as a leading male escort provider in city, Farheen convinced several persons to provide high payments from her clients. The police said that Farheen has cheated many employed and unemployed persons. She has collected about Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 from each person as registration fees.
After receiving money, she blocked the mobile number of the victims. She was involved in this business since 2010 and had collected about Rs 3.5 lakh from victims across the state, the police said on Tuesday. A mobile phone with SIM card, one ATM card was recovered from her and she was being produced in the court, said CCS DCP C Ravi Varma in a press note.
