Govt copied last year budget:Jana Reddy
Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition (LoP) K Jana Reddy on Friday took the government to task by pointing out loopholes in the preparation of budget and alleged that the government had merely copied figures mentioned in the previous budget. Initiating the discussion of Budget 2015-16 in the Assembly, the LoP cornered the government on several issues in budget forcing both the Chief Minister and Finance Minister to frequently intervene and issue clarifications.
Jana Reddy alleged that the budget was ornamental and the projections were made beyond reality. “It appears that the government has not studied the budget as it is not nearer to the reality and it is based on imagination,” he said.
The Congress member said that the government failed to make proper budget estimates and revised estimates. The budget figures presented in 2014-15 have been merely copied and pasted in the revised estimates. “Not even 50 paisa change is reflected in the revised estimates. Can we call these as revised estimates?” he asked.
