Plans Maha Mrutunjaya Homam to ward off evil spirit

Hyderabad : Star-crossed icons of the tinsel town, haunted by morbid fears over the view that baleful grahacharam is taking a heavy toll of Tollywood, which has seen the passing away of over half a dozen stalwarts and other personalities this year, have now banded together to perform Maha Mrutunjaya Homam to protect themselves and the industry.

The Telugu film industry has lost Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Bapu, Sri Hari, Daggubati Ramanaidu, AVS, MS Narayana, Chakri, Ahuti Prasad and others in the recent past and their deaths are seen as ‘untimely’ and attributable to ill-disposed stars in the firmament.

The film industry is one place where sentiments and superstitious beliefs have a major role to play. Be it film titles, numerological respelling of stars’ names or preferences for particular sartorial hues, superstitions rule the industry folks on-screen and off-screen alike.
